  • Temper Tantrum

business woman in an office environment screams at laptop in emotional turmoil.
  • I work in an office and sit next to a lady who tends to overreact and take things personally.
  • She's also a bit of a conspiracy theorist and spends all her time scrolling tiktok and repeating whatever nonsense she hears.
  • Honest to god though, in the time I've spent sitting by her I have really grown to care about her and appreciate many things about her, but sometimes I just can't.
  • irritated woman shouts while sitting at her desk with a laptop open
  • Last week we were all told to take down decorations in our cubicle for a fire inspection.
  • Like the entire office was told to do this. But she took it as a personal attack from our supervisor and was furious, ripping things off the walls of her cubicle, crumpling them and throwing them in the trash.
  • I'm used to hearing her slam drawers and such, but this was so over the top so I picked up my phone and walked away to take a break, leaving her to continue making a scene.
  • It was the afternoon so I just left her alone the rest of the day. It bothered me so much though that the next day, I went to our boss and asked if I could move to an empty desk (they basically said no).
  • woman grabs her head in distress in front of her laptop
  • She saw me go to our boss, waited til he went on vacation the next day, then confronted me on it.
  • Accused me of trying to get her in trouble, saying I ran off like a scared little cat, and saying she agrees it would be better if I sat somewhere else because she "knows how I operate" (idk that means).
  • I also peered over at her desk while she was gone and noticed that pictures of her kids were gone, as well as items that I had crafted for her - I'm assuming they were thrown away in her fit of rage.
  • That stung.
  • Anyways, now she's not talking to me and refuses to even look at me.
  • All because I dared to hold her accountable for her atrocious behavior.
  • The bright side is: she's finally quiet and respectful of our shared space.
  • No more huffing and puffing, no more slamming drawers.
  • It's almost as if she's known how to act right this whole time.
  • It's been nice to disconnect from her moods, I've been a lot more productive this last week.
